Terms of Service

Effective: November 4, 2025

1. Agreement

Teaching Restored is owned and operated by VINJONES, LLC, a Washington limited liability company. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) form a binding contract between you and VINJONES, LLC d/b/a Teaching Restored (“Teaching Restored,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) governing your use of the Teacher AI Evaluation service available at evalapp.teachingrestored.com(the “Service”). By creating an account, uploading audio, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to create an account. By creating an account you represent that you meet this requirement and that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

3. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at info@teachingrestored.com if you suspect unauthorized access. We may suspend or terminate accounts that share credentials, use bots, or otherwise abuse the Service.

4. Description of the Service

The Service lets you upload an audio recording of a gospel classroom lesson, transcribes it with speaker diarization, and uses AI (the Anthropic Claude API) to produce a structured evaluation of the instruction. The first evaluation is free; paid plans are billed monthly through Stripe.

Evaluations are advisory only. They are AI-generated and may contain errors, omissions, or misclassifications. They are not, and should not be used as, authoritative judgments of your teaching or your worthiness. Use them as one input among many.

5. Recording & Consent Representations

Every time you upload an audio file, you expressly represent and warrant the following. These representations are independent of the consent checkbox shown in the upload flow and apply to every upload, not just your first.

  1. Authority. You are the teacher of the class being recorded, or you have explicit authorization from the teacher.
  2. Announcement. You announced the recording to all participants before recording began.
  3. No objection. No participant objected to being recorded.
  4. Adult participants. All participants are 18 years of age or older, OR a parent or legal guardian of every minor participant has given consent to record that minor’s voice.
  5. Setting. The recording is not from a setting where confidentiality is expected (see Section 6 for the non-exhaustive list).
  6. Recording-law compliance. You have complied with every federal, state, and local law governing the recording, including any “all-party” consent requirement and any anti-wiretapping or eavesdropping statute in the jurisdiction where the recording took place. You accept full responsibility for that compliance.
  7. Ownership. You personally made the recording or have obtained from the recorder the rights necessary to upload, store, transcribe, and analyze it.

The Service is designed for the open-classroom setting where recording is announced and consensual. It is not intended for surreptitious recording, and we do not authorize such use under any circumstances.

6. Prohibited Uses (Scope of Use)

You may not upload, transcribe, or evaluate audio from any of the following settings or sources. This list is not exhaustive; it illustrates the kinds of recordings that are categorically forbidden:

  • Any setting where any participant is under the age of 18, unless a parent or legal guardian of every such minor has given affirmative consent for that minor’s voice to be recorded.
  • One-on-one interviews with a bishop, branch president, stake president, mission president, or other ecclesiastical leader.
  • Confidential counseling sessions, support-group meetings, addiction-recovery meetings, or similar settings where confidentiality is expected by participants.
  • Temple endowment sessions, sealing ordinances, initiatory, temple recommend interviews, or any other temple-related instruction or ordinance.
  • Any recording you did not personally make or for which you do not hold the rights necessary to upload and process it.
  • Audio used to evaluate, surveil, grade, or otherwise pass judgment on another teacher without that teacher’s prior knowledge and consent.
  • Content that violates law, infringes intellectual-property rights, contains malware, or harasses any individual or group.
  • Attempts to reverse-engineer, scrape, abuse rate limits, or otherwise interfere with the technical operation of the Service.

Violation of any provision in this section is grounds for immediate termination of your account, deletion of your evaluations, and forfeiture of any remaining subscription credit. We may also report serious violations to appropriate authorities.

7. Subscription, Billing, and Refunds

Paid plans are billed monthly in advance through Stripe at the price posted on the pricing page at the time you subscribe. Plans renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled. You may cancel at any time from your account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the then-current billing period and your access continues until that date.

Except as required by law or as expressly stated in these Terms, all payments are non-refundable. We may change subscription pricing or plan limits with at least 14 days’ advance notice by email; if you do not agree to the change, you may cancel before it takes effect.

8. Your Content & Our License

You retain ownership of the audio you upload and of the evaluation results generated from it (your “Content”). You grant Teaching Restored a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, transmit, transcribe, and process your Content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you. We delete audio after transcription and transcripts after evaluation as described in our Privacy Policy.

You also grant us the right to use de-identified, aggregated analytics derived from your Content (e.g. average question counts across all evaluations) to operate, evaluate, and improve the Service. We will not use your audio, transcripts, or evaluation results to train third-party AI models.

9. Intellectual Property

The Service, including the underlying software, the evaluation prompts and rubric, the user interface, and the Teaching Restored name and logo, is owned by Teaching Restored and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. We grant you a limited, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for its intended purpose. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

10. AI Output Disclaimer

Evaluation results are generated by automated systems that can produce inaccurate, incomplete, or unexpected outputs. We make no warranty about the accuracy of any classification, count, summary, or recommendation. You agree to exercise your own judgment before relying on any evaluation result, especially in any context affecting another person.

11. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time by deleting it or by emailing info@teachingrestored.com. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for any breach of these Terms, including without limitation the prohibited uses in Section 6. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, 14, and 15 survive termination.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ANY WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR ACCURACY OF AI-GENERATED OUTPUT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.

13. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TEACHING RESTORED’S AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (a) THE AMOUNTS PAID BY YOU TO TEACHING RESTORED IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (b) US$50.

IN NO EVENT WILL TEACHING RESTORED BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, OR LOSS OF GOODWILL, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN OF THESE EXCLUSIONS, IN WHICH CASE THEY WILL APPLY TO YOU ONLY TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED.

14. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Teaching Restored and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claim, demand, loss, damage, or expense (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or relating to (a) any audio you upload, (b) your breach of any representation in Section 5, (c) your violation of any prohibited use in Section 6, or (d) your violation of any applicable law, including any recording, wiretap, or privacy statute.

15. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Vancouver, Clark County, Washington, and you and Teaching Restored each consent to personal jurisdiction and venue there.

Before filing any formal claim, you agree to first contact us at info@teachingrestored.com and give us thirty (30) days to attempt to resolve the matter informally.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make a materialchange — for example, expanding prohibited uses, raising prices, or changing dispute-resolution terms — we will notify you by email at the address associated with your account at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the Service and cancel your account before the effective date.

17. Miscellaneous

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and Teaching Restored regarding the Service. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our written consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
