1. Who We Are

Teaching Restored is owned and operated by VINJONES, LLC, a Washington limited liability company (“Teaching Restored,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). We operate the Teacher AI Evaluation service available at evalapp.teachingrestored.com(the “Service”). The Service lets gospel-class facilitators upload audio recordings of their classroom instruction and receive an AI-generated evaluation of their teaching.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, where it is stored, how long we keep it, and what choices you have. Questions? Email us at info@teachingrestored.com.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Account information. When you create an account we collect your full name, email address, and a hashed password. We never see your plaintext password.
  • Audio recordings. Audio files you upload for evaluation. You are solely responsible for the contents of these files and for the consent of every person whose voice appears on them. See our Terms of Service for the representations you make about each upload.
  • Transcripts. Time-stamped, speaker-diarized transcripts generated automatically from your audio.
  • Evaluation results. The structured analysis produced by our AI evaluators (e.g. question types, speaking time, narrative summary, strengths, areas for growth).
  • Lesson metadata you supply. Optional fields you provide such as instructor name and class type.
  • Payment information. If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is processed entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number; we receive only a Stripe customer identifier and subscription status.
  • Operational logs. Standard server logs (timestamp, IP address, user-agent, request path) generated by our hosting and authentication providers and used for security, rate limiting, and debugging.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information above only to:

  • Transcribe your audio with speaker diarization.
  • Run AI analysis to produce your evaluation results.
  • Display, store, and let you re-access your results.
  • Maintain your account and authenticate you securely.
  • Process subscription payments and enforce plan limits.
  • Detect and prevent abuse, enforce our Terms of Service, and comply with legal obligations.
  • Send service-related emails (e.g. account confirmation, subscription receipts). We do not send marketing email without your opt-in.

We do not sell your information. We do not use your audio, transcripts, or evaluation results to train third-party AI models. We may use de-identified, aggregated data (e.g. average question counts across all evaluations) to improve the Service.

4. Subprocessors We Share Information With

Operating the Service requires us to share certain data with vetted third-party subprocessors. We disclose each by name below, along with what they do and a link to their privacy policy:

VercelApplication hosting and request routing (US-based).View
AssemblyAIAudio transcription with speaker diarization (US-based).View

We do not share your data with any other third parties except (a) when required by valid legal process, (b) to protect our rights, property, or the safety of users, or (c) in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case we will notify you and any successor will be bound by this Policy.

5. Where Your Data Is Stored

We deliberately keep our data residency in the United States. Specifically:

  • Database, file storage, authentication — hosted in a Supabase project provisioned in a US region.
  • Application hosting — Vercel, with serverless functions running primarily in US regions.
  • Audio transcription — AssemblyAI, US-based.
  • AI evaluation — Anthropic (Claude API), US-based.
  • Payments — Stripe, US-based.

If you access the Service from outside the United States, you consent to your information being transferred to and processed in the United States.

6. Retention and Deletion

We minimize what we keep. Our default lifecycle for evaluation data:

  • Audio file — uploaded to our storage, sent to AssemblyAI for transcription, then deleted from our storage automatically as soon as transcription completes (typically within minutes). We do not keep your audio.
  • Transcript — stored only as long as needed to run the AI evaluation, then deleted automaticallywhen your evaluation results are saved (typically within 1–3 minutes after upload).
  • Evaluation results — retained in your account until you delete them individually from your dashboard or close your account.
  • Account information — retained while your account is active. When you delete your account from Settings → Delete my account, we immediately and automatically: cancel any active subscription, purge any remaining audio from storage, delete every evaluation and transcript tied to your account, delete your authentication record, and email you a confirmation summarizing what was removed. The active-systems deletion completes in seconds.
  • Subprocessor copies — AssemblyAI and Anthropic receive your audio or transcript only for the duration of processing your request and follow their own retention policies (typically 30 days or less for transcription, and zero retention or no-training defaults for the Claude API).

Encrypted backups

We keep encrypted, point-in-time database backups for disaster recovery. After you delete an evaluation or your entire account, your data is removed from the live database immediately, but a copy may persist in those encrypted backups for up to 30 days, after which it rolls off automatically. We will not access or restore from a backup to bring deleted data back, and we will not use backups as a source for any analytics or AI processing — backups exist solely to recover from a system failure. Once the backup window passes, no copy of your data remains in our systems.

7. Your Rights and Choices

You can, at any time:

  • View, download, or share any evaluation in your account.
  • Delete any individual evaluation from your dashboard.
  • Download your data in-app from Settings → Download my data. You'll get a JSON file containing your account info, subscription status, and every evaluation tied to your account (including results, share links, and timestamps). Audio and transcripts are not included because we delete those automatically after processing.
  • Delete your account in-app from Settings → Delete my account. This runs the full purge described in Section 6 automatically and emails you a confirmation when complete.
  • Request additional data by emailing info@teachingrestored.com. We will respond within a reasonable time and in any case within 30 days.
  • Cancel your subscription from your account settings, which will end further billing at the close of the current billing period.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights (access, correction, portability, objection, restriction) under applicable privacy laws including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) and the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Contact us at the email above to exercise these rights; we will not discriminate against you for doing so.

8. Security

We use HTTPS for every connection, store account passwords as salted hashes, encrypt data at rest at the database and storage layers, and rate-limit upload endpoints to protect against abuse. No system is perfectly secure; please use a strong, unique password for your account and notify us immediately at info@teachingrestored.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

9. Recording-Law Compliance

Federal and state laws impose serious restrictions on recording conversations. You are responsible for complying with the laws of every jurisdiction where the recording took place. Several states require the consent of allparties to a recording (so-called “two-party” or “all-party” consent states). You represent and warrant, every time you upload, that you have obtained all consents required by law.

See our Terms of Service for the complete list of consent representations required for each upload. Violations may result in immediate termination of your account.

10. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If your recording includes participants under the age of 18, you are responsible for obtaining parental or legal-guardian consent before uploading.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make a material change — one that reduces your rights, expands the categories of data we collect, or adds a new subprocessor — we will notify you by email at the address associated with your account at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
